II. Data privacy information
All data processing activities (such as collecting, processing and transmitting data) are performed in accordance with the applicable legal regulations. The following statement provides you with an overview of the type of data collected, how these data are used and circulated, what security measures we implement to protect your data and how you can obtain information about the data provided to us.
Section 1: Collection and storage of personal data
Personal data means particulars about personal or factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person. Examples include your name, address, telephone number, date of birth, banking information and IP address.
In the course of using our website, the following data are logged and stored exclusively for internal, system-related and statistical purposes in a manner that makes conclusions about you as a person impossible due to anonymisation or pseudonymisation: Name of the accessed pages and downloaded files, name of the browser and operating system used, name of the requesting domain, date and time of access, search engines used, name of your internet service provider, the website from which you accessed our website (referrer URL) and your IP address. All usage data and in particular also your IP address are erased as soon as possible, no later than immediately after the end of the usage process.
Other personal information is only recorded when you provide it to us voluntarily, for example as part of an enquiry or registration.
To use our online ordering service, you can either order our products as a guest (“Shop as guest”) or choose to register (“Registration”) in the course of the ordering process which causes your data to be stored in our system so that you do not have to enter your data (such as your shipping address) again manually the next time you use our online ordering service. As a registered user, you can also edit your customer profile (such as your primary address/billing address, shipping address, telephone number, e-mail address, password and similar) in the customer area. Both for orders as a “guest” and as a “registered” user, we request all data we require for order processing and delivery: Your full name or your full company address including the name of the authorised representative, your e-mail address, your address (billing address and shipping address, if different) and optionally your telephone number (for example for arranging a delivery date at short notice). In case of “registration” you also have to select a password. This in combination with your e-mail address allows you to log in easily with no additional data input. We store the data entered by you to set up a customer account that we use to record, process and deliver your orders. In case of registration we store your data for subsequent orders as long as you maintain your registration. You have the right to information and the right to the correction or deletion of your registration data at any time. We delete your registration when deletion is prescribed by law or when you ask us to delete your registration (customer account) with us. Additional data requested during the ordering process include information on how you want to pay for the goods/services ordered by you. In case of payment using the payment service provider “PayPal” (PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal,L-2449 Luxembourg, referred to as “PayPal” in the following), you are transferred to the “PayPal” website immediately after placing your order where you can initiate or approve a corresponding payment via “PayPal” provided you are a registered “PayPal” customer. For this purpose “PayPal” also collects personal data, whereupon the corresponding “PayPal” data privacy provisions and general business terms and conditions are defined exclusively by the provisions agreed between you and “PayPal” pursuant to your contractual relationship with “PayPal”, over which we have no influence. Therefore we assume no liability for the design and application of the “PayPal” data privacy provisions. Further information about the “PayPal” data privacy provisions, in particular the data privacy principles regarding the “Disclosure of personal data to other PayPal users”, is found on the following website provided by “PayPal”: https://www.paypal.com/de/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full?locale.x=de_DE
Section 2: Use, dissemination and deletion of personal data
We use the personal data provided by you to respond to your enquiries, for the performance of purchase contracts in case of orders (initiation, conclusion, processing, warranties and rescission), for our services, to perform credit checks and for the purpose of technical website administration.
You can subscribe to our e-mail newsletter. In this case we need to obtain and store your e-mail address. We use it exclusively to send e-mail newsletters that inform you of current offers within the scope of our own promotional activities. You can have yourself removed from the distribution list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link near the bottom of our e-mail newsletter. Your data are deleted in this case.
The dissemination of your data to third parties only takes place when dissemination is required for the purpose of contractual performance, for settlement purposes and/or payment collection, or if you have given your express consent. We may also have to provide your address and order data to suppliers when your order is delivered directly ex works. Our suppliers are only provided with the information that is essential in order to perform their respective tasks. No other use of the information is permitted. We also have the right to disseminate your personal data for collection purposes. In case of advance performance by us (for example when customers buy on account), we can have the identity and creditworthiness of customers reviewed by a service provider.
Furthermore, we do not exclude the possibility of transferring anonymised usage data for market research purposes. Here the identification of users is excluded.
Note that we have the right to provide information about data on a case-by-case basis by order of authorised bodies to the extent this is required for the purpose of criminal prosecution, the averting of danger by state police authorities, to comply with the legal requirements of the federal and state constitution protection authorities, the Federal Intelligence Service or the Military Counter-Intelligence Service, or to assert rights to intellectual property.
Section 3: Security advice
We have implemented numerous security measures to adequately protect personal information to an appropriate extent.
Our databases are protected by physical and technical measures as well as procedural measures that restrict access to information to persons with special authorisation in compliance with this data privacy statement. Our information system is installed behind a software firewall and a hardware firewall in order to prevent access from other networks connected to the Internet. Only employees who require the information to perform a specific task are given access to personal information.
When personal information is collected through our website, transmission is encrypted using the industry standard secure socket layer (SSL) technology.
You should never share your password for access to our website with anyone, and we recommend you change your password regularly. When leaving our website, you should log out and close your browser to prevent unauthorised users from accessing your user account. We cannot guarantee full data security in case of communication by e-mail, telephone, fax or letter.
Section 4: Cookies, web analysis tools and social plugins
“Cookies” are small files that allow us to store specific information related to you on your PC during your visit to our website. Cookies help us determine the frequency of use and number of users on our website, and to make our offering as secure, convenient and efficient as possible for you.
Our offerings may be used without cookies as well. In your respective web browser, you can deactivate the storage of cookies, restrict it to certain websites or configure your browser to notify you as soon as a cookie is sent (for instance in Internet Explorer under Extras/Internet Options). For instructions on how to configure the settings of your respective web browser, please see the user manual or help for your browser. You can also delete cookies from the hard drive on your PC at any time (for example in Firefox: Tools > Options > Privacy > Remove individual cookies > Remove Selected/Remove All; Internet Explorer: Extras > Internet Options > Delete general browser history/Cookies). However, please note that you have to expect the presentation of our website, user guidance and/or the user experience to be limited in this case.
We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (referred to as “Google” in the following). Google Analytics uses what are known as cookies. These are text files that are stored on your computer and allow for analysis of your use of our website. The information generated by the cookies regarding your use of our website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA where it is stored. Google will use this information by our request in order to analyse your use of our website, compile reports on website activities and provide additional services for us related to the use of the website and the Internet. The IP address transferred by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not combined with other data by Google. You may prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings accordingly. However, we hereby advise you that you may not be able to fully utilise all functions of our website in that case. Furthermore, you can prevent the capture of data (including the IP address) generated by the cookie and related to your use of our website by Google as well as the processing of these data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

We assume no liability for the design and application of the Google data privacy provisions.
If you were transferred to our online shop by the “Google Shopping” service from Google Inc. (as above): When you click one of our products on the “Google Shopping” website or in the Google search results, you are transferred to our online shop. In this process, Google identifies the customer with a cookie that, according to Google, does not contain any personal data. This is required so Google can bill us for brokering a customer; the customer does not incur any costs. Since the cookie in question is placed by Google, we have no influence on the content of the cookie; the Google data privacy statement applies in this regard. For further information, see https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/ (Google data privacy statement).
